Time to reveal our Nativity addition for 2017!
Last year when conjuring ideas, I sang to myself:
“Away in a Manger, no crib for his head,
The little lord Jesus, no crying he makes.
The cattle are lowing, the poor baby wakes.”
The cattle! I only had one cow, our Holy Cow.
So, this year, she and I produced a set of twins. The calves wear my present favorite color combination: a heavenly blue and periwinkle lilac with silver leaf trim.
But what will dazzle you is the 3-D holographic silver glitter applied subtly to the trim on their blankets and headgear. It has a celestial effect on the manger scene! These two simply have to be seen in real life to be fully appreciated.
I spent a lot of time in my youth with new born dairy cows, feeding them with a nursing bucket. Their warm faces and bodies, came back to me as I drew these two. Sure hope you like them.
Here is a word to the wise, even though it is VERY early. Our Nativity addition sells out every year. Might be something you want to purchase sooner than later!
